Autism Awareness
My sister sent a beautiful poem to me for Christmas regarding Autism, which I read at work. I was a weeping [thank goodness I don't wear mascara - would have looked like a raccoon!] wretch! It made me appreciate and feel blessed for what I have even more than ever. Moreover, it made me feel a great deal of compassion and ... I can't think of a strong enough word ... but the amount of strength that it must take to be a parent of a child that is Autistic or has Downs Syndrome or any other type of affliction. My nephew is autistic and he has 1 brother and 2 sisters. I don't think I ever gave my sister the credit until I read that poem. Honestly, I don't know if I would have the strength. I do know that she calls me up elated to tell me that Bobby said a new word - or ate something different! I give you all the credit in the world! http://www.4shared.com/file/34358131/fd127dd6/Frames_-_PNG.html

Yeah, hats off to parents who face those struggles everyday with children. I have so much respect and admiration to those parents.
Btw - thanks for the wonderful frames.
Have a great day!
I just sent this poem to my daughter who is a teacher for the deaf. She was so down tonight from basically the same thing that this poem states, only for a different disibility. My hats go off not only to the parents but also to the teachers who care so much.
Thank you so much for all the hard work you do for us :)
TY so very much for all your FAB goodies!!!!!!!
I think you would be surprised just how strong you can be! As a Mommy of a little boy with Down Syndrome, I know first hand how strength seems to come from the most amazing places, namely my children! I bet your sister feels the same way! You must be a wonderful sister to care so much and to send that poem on to your sister!
Thank you so much for the wonderful frames! Cheers!
I Would like to copy this poem to place on a LO for my Nephew, he was born 9.23.07 and has Down Syndrome. Please let me know if this will be fine and if so, who to credit.
Thanks
Jennifer
